Gregory M. Lomas

Dr. Gregory Lomas is a Board Certified Urologist and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Lomas is a member of the both the American Urology Association and California Urology Association, along with several Medical Societies. He has served on various hospital committees, been a Board Member and most recently served as Chief of Surgery. He has decades of experience in all aspects of Urology and the treatment of associated illnesses. He has been in the private practice of Urology since 1991 (see below) and has decided to make RTR Urology, and Venice, his new home.

Dr. Lomas received his Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, at the University of Detroit (MI) in 1972 and then went on to complete his Masters of Business Administration in 1979. He was in the business world for about 10 years and then went to Michigan State University where Dr. Lomas was awarded his Doctor of Medicine in 1986.

Dr. Lomas completed two years of General Surgery at Wake Forest University and the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. He then went on to complete three years of Urology at Wake Forest University and the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC finishing as Chief Resident, in 1991. Dr. Lomas became a Board Certified Urologist in 1994, and then tested again to become recertified in 2004, and again in 2013 and is board certified until 2024.

Dr. Lomas has practiced Urology in both Florida and North Carolina, but has spent the majority of his career practicing in Redding, CA.

Dr. Lomas was born in Detroit, Michigan. A career in medicine was Dr. Lomas' second career, His first career was working for Ford Motor Company following in his Father's footsteps. Dr. Lomas worked for Ford Motor Company in various sales, marketing and finance positions, for almost 10 years prior to being accepted to medical school.

Relocating to Venice, FL will allow Dr. Lomas, his wife and three children, to enjoy more time with both of their extended families that live in the South and Midwest as well as in Trinidad, WI. Dr. Lomas enjoys family, golf, water skiing, softball, sports and exotic cars.

Dr. Lomas has great passion for his work and his patients. He particularly enjoys treating and helping patients with prostate problems, Malignancies of the urinary tract, kidney stones and female urology problems. Dr. Lomas is well-versed in the latest urologic technology including DaVinci Robotics and Greenlight Laser Therapies. Dr. Lomas believes that he can be instrumental in helping our aging population, as well as the generations to come, enjoy the "Florida lifestyle".
